Greece intercepts highest number of irregular immigrants Posted on: 06-05-2014

Every year more than 100,000 people try to enter the EU without proper documents. Illegal or irregular migrants fall victim to unscrupulous human traffickers. The first three EU member states with the highest number of people identified as irregular migrant are: Greece (75,420), Germany (64,815) and Spain (52,485). Numbers that come from the recent Iconography of migration flows into the European Union prepared by Frontex, the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union. That also shows as the number of migrants passing through the central Mediterranean has this year already exceeded 31,000 migrants.
